Ingredients
1 cup whole milk
1½–2 teaspoons peppermint extract (adjust to your taste)
¾ cup granulated sugar
Pinch of sea salt or pink Himalayan salt
2 cups heavy cream
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
2 drops dye-free green food coloring (optional, for that classic mint color)
How to Make It
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, peppermint extract, sugar, sea salt, and vanilla until the sugar has completely dissolved.
If you'd like that classic mint ice cream color, stir in 2 drops of green food coloring until evenly mixed.
Pour the mixture into the freezer bowl of your Cuisinart® Ice Cream Maker and turn the machine on.
Churn for about 10–25 minutes, or until the ice cream reaches a thick, soft-serve consistency.
Enjoy it right away if you love soft-serve, or transfer it to an airtight container and freeze for about 2 hours for a firmer, scoopable ice cream.
A Few Tips
Start with 1½ teaspoons of peppermint extract and taste before adding more—a little goes a long way!
For the creamiest texture, make sure your ice cream maker's freezer bowl is completely frozen before you begin.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer for up to two weeks. ENJOY!
